About the Vostok Komandirskie
Vostok has been producing watches for the Soviet and Russian military since 1942, and the Komandirskie (“Commander”) line is the most celebrated of their output. Issued to Soviet officers and widely collected today, these watches represent extraordinary value — robust, mechanical, and steeped in Cold War history. The GMT variant adds a 24-hour hand and bi-colour friction bezel for tracking a second time zone, making it a genuine tool watch in the truest sense.
Design & Dial
The dial is black with white Arabic numerals, luminous baton indices, and Vostok’s characteristic red star at 6 o’clock. The Cyrillic “Командирские” script sits proudly across the dial — a reminder of this watch’s Soviet roots. The bi-colour red/blue friction bezel carries a 24-hour scale in the classic “Pepsi” colourway, a combination that turns heads for all the right reasons. The round stainless steel case measures approximately 48.5mm tip-to-tip (including crown) with a lug width of 20mm. This is a bold, substantial watch with real wrist presence. It is fitted with an aftermarket Bros black rubber strap with a stainless steel pin buckle.
Movement
Powered by Vostok’s automatic mechanical movement, the watch is running well and keeping accurate time. Vostok movements are robust, serviceable, and widely supported — a great choice for anyone who appreciates hand-built mechanical watchmaking at an accessible price point.
Condition
Very Good. The watch is in very good condition and fully functional. Light surface wear consistent with pre-loved use may be present on the case.
