About the Ancon Grand Prix

Ancon is a British independent watch brand that draws its aesthetic inspiration from the world of motorsport — angular geometries, aggressive proportions, and uncompromising build quality. The Grand Prix is their flagship statement piece: named after one of the earliest and most prestigious motor racing venues, it's a watch that wears its ambition on its wrist. Reference GP104-0045 is a limited production example, and surviving examples in this condition are increasingly hard to find.

Design & Dial

The 47.1mm stainless steel case receives a full gunmetal DLC/PVD coating, giving it a stealth, almost industrial presence on the wrist. The case architecture is anything but subtle — deeply cut angular flanks, pronounced crown guards, and a multi-faceted bezel frame a dial that rewards close inspection. The dark dial features Arabic numeral hour markers in white, a striking layout that combines a traditional chapter ring with an open-heart aperture revealing the rotor and balance wheel below, plus a moonphase-style complication at 10 o'clock adding a touch of horological theatre. A seconds subdial sits at 6 o'clock. The caseback is exhibition-style, revealing the movement in full. The watch sits on its original black rubber strap, signed Ancon — The Legend on the inner face, with a matching PVD-coated pin buckle.

Movement

Powering the Grand Prix is a Miyota automatic movement (21 jewels), built in Japan and renowned for its reliability and longevity. Self-winding via a bidirectional rotor, it requires no battery — just wear it and it will keep ticking. Water resistance is rated to 200 metres, making this a serious sports watch capable of handling swimming and snorkelling with ease.

Condition

Excellent. The watch is in excellent pre-loved condition. The case and dial are clean and sharp, with no notable marks or damage to report. The rubber strap shows minimal wear and retains good suppleness. As with all pre-loved watches, other small marks or imperfections may be visible upon close inspection of the photographs — please study every image carefully before purchasing.
