About the Seiko 7L22-0BB0
The Seiko 7L22 Kinetic Flyback Chronograph is one of the rarest and most technically ambitious watches Seiko ever produced. Combining Seiko’s groundbreaking Kinetic technology — which harvests energy from the wearer’s wrist movement — with a proper flyback chronograph complication, the 7L22 is a genuine horological achievement. Limited to just 200 examples worldwide, these watches are almost never seen for sale. Finding one in this condition is extraordinary. Finding the very last piece — number 200 of 200 — is something else entirely.
This particular example was purchased new in Las Vegas in 2013 and has been kept in exceptional condition. It is, by any reasonable measure, one of the finest surviving examples of this reference in existence.
Design & Dial
The cushion-barrel stainless steel case is an architectural statement — four corner screws anchor the case design, giving it an industrial, avant-garde character unlike anything else in Seiko’s catalogue. The case measures 43.1mm wide × 50.9mm lug-to-lug × 15.8mm thick, with a lug width of 22mm. The black dial carries white Arabic numerals and luminous baton indices, with a contrasting sub-dial and an outer chronograph/tachymeter scale. Orange accents on the flyback reset pusher and the seconds hand add a bold, sporty edge. The sapphire-style crystal is clean and free of marks. The watch sits on its original heavy polished stainless steel oyster-style bracelet with push-button deployant clasp, adjusted to fit up to a 7.5 inch (19cm) wrist.
Movement
The Seiko Calibre 7L22 is a Kinetic flyback chronograph — a movement of exceptional complexity and rarity. Kinetic technology uses a rotor to convert wrist movement into electrical energy stored in a capacitor, eliminating the need for a conventional battery while delivering quartz-level accuracy. The flyback function allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted in a single pusher action, a complication typically reserved for high-end Swiss manufacture pieces. The watch is running perfectly and performing as it should.
Condition
Exceptional. This is genuinely one of the finest pre-loved examples of the 7L22-0BB0 you will find anywhere. The case, dial, crystal, and bracelet are all in outstanding condition, with no notable marks, scratches, or blemishes visible. The movement is functioning perfectly. As with all pre-loved watches, other small marks or imperfections may be visible upon close inspection of the photographs — please study every image carefully before purchasing.
