Dive Dynamics 1980s Quartz Day-Date Watch | MRP SA Case | Gold-Tone Bezel
Dive Dynamics 1980s Quartz Day-Date Watch | MRP SA Case
Here at Bezel & Hide, we believe a great watch speaks for itself. This 1980s Dive Dynamics brings together a black day-date dial, bold green luminous markers and an unusual gold-tone bezel with a red-and-black insert. Paired with a colourful striped G10 strap, it has plenty of personality while retaining the purposeful look of a classic diving watch.
A characterful vintage quartz watch, offered at an honest market price for this model.
About This Dive Dynamics
This example dates to the 1980s and carries the Dive Dynamics name prominently on its dial. Its appeal lies in the details: the angular silver-tone case, warm gold-tone accents and generously sized hour markers create a distinctly period look.
Rather than dress it up with an unverified brand history or claim rarity we cannot substantiate, we prefer to let the actual watch do the talking. It is an individual vintage piece with an attractive combination of colours and a practical day-date display.
Design & Dial
The black dial provides a strong backdrop for the pale green luminous hour markers. A large triangle marks 12 o’clock, elongated markers distinguish 6 and 9, and round plots complete the layout. The photographs show the markers glowing green in reduced light, although the duration of that glow has not been measured.
Gold-tone hands echo the dial lettering and bezel detailing. The distinctive segmented hour hand sits alongside a long minute hand and a slender seconds hand with a circular luminous detail. A framed day-date window at 3 o’clock adds everyday practicality.
The watch uses an MRP SA case, pairing its angular silver-tone profile with the unusual gold-tone bezel edge and red-and-black timing insert.
The bezel combines a gold-tone toothed outer edge with a red-and-black timing insert, gold-tone numerals and a triangular reference marker. Against the silver-tone case, it creates a warmer and more individual look than an all-steel finish.
The watch is fitted with the pictured striped G10 fabric strap, combining brown, cream, dark green and red, with silver-tone buckle and keepers.
Approximate measurements shown in the caliper photographs, not verified factory specifications: 39mm case width excluding the crown, 46.5mm lug-to-lug, 10mm thickness and 20mm lug width. The separate measurement across the crown reads approximately 43.8mm.
Movement
Powered by the ETA 955.124 quartz calibre, as confirmed for this watch, with central hours, minutes and seconds plus day and date. Working perfectly at the time of listing.
The dial and caseback carry 200m water-resistance markings. These are the watch’s marked specification, not a confirmation of its present water resistance. This watch has not been pressure tested since its most recent battery fitting, and water resistance is not guaranteed. We recommend keeping it away from water and having it professionally pressure tested before swimming, diving or other water exposure.
Condition
Good pre-loved condition, with a couple of small marks on the crystal, visible in the close-up photographs.
The case, caseback, bezel and strap also show signs of previous use consistent with a vintage watch. After several decades, marks, scratches and wear may be present across its surfaces; this is not being offered as a pristine or unworn example.
As with all pre-loved watches, other small marks or imperfections may be visible upon close inspection of the photographs — please study every image carefully before purchasing.
