About the Citizen Eco-Drive Eco Drone

Citizen has been at the forefront of Japanese watchmaking since 1918, and the Eco-Drive line — launched in 1976 — remains one of the most celebrated light-powered movements in the industry. The Eco Drone sits within Citizen's sport-casual segment: a 1990s-era two-tone model aimed at the active wearer who wants presence on the wrist without compromising on practicality. With its rotating elapsed-time bezel, bold lume indices, and water resistance rated to 100 metres, it punches well above its price point.

Design & Dial

The 38.1mm case is crafted in two-tone stainless steel, combining brushed silver with gold-tone accents at the lugs, bezel inserts, and crown — giving the watch a dressed-up sport character that reads equally well at the office or on the water. The textured silver-grey dial is dressed with luminous dot and baton indices, a luminous triangle marker at 12, and a matching set of gold-tone hands with lume fill. A date window sits at 3 o'clock. The unidirectional rotating bezel carries elapsed-time markings (10–50) in bold numerals, framed by a silver-tone ring with gold-tone pip. The crystal is mineral glass with a domed profile. The watch is presented on its original two-tone stainless steel bracelet with silver links and gold-tone centre sections, closing via a Citizen fold-over deployment clasp. Bracelet length: approximately 8 inches, with a lug width of 17.9mm.

Movement

Powered by Citizen's celebrated Eco-Drive solar quartz movement, this watch converts any light source — natural or artificial — into energy stored in a rechargeable cell. Once fully charged, it will run for months in complete darkness. There are no battery replacements, no winding, and no setting the time every morning — just expose it to light and wear it. The movement keeps time to quartz accuracy, typically ±15 seconds per month. Water resistance: 100 metres (W.R. 100), making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling.

Condition

Graded Very Good. The watch is in full working order — the Eco-Drive movement is functioning correctly, the date sets properly, and the rotating bezel operates as intended. The dial and crystal are clean and free from significant damage. The two-tone bracelet retains its shape well and the clasp functions securely. As expected of a pre-loved watch of this era, there are light surface marks and minor scuffs consistent with normal wear — most visible on the case sides and bracelet links under close inspection. Nothing detracts from the overall presentable appearance of this piece.
