About the Citizen Avion Eco-Drive Chronograph

Citizen has been producing exceptional timepieces since 1918, and their Eco-Drive technology — which powers the movement entirely from light, natural or artificial — remains one of the most practical innovations in watchmaking. The Avion collection draws its inspiration from classic aviation instrumentation: large Arabic numerals, a prominent outer minute/seconds track, and a clean, functional Flieger layout that any pilot (or anyone who appreciates serious design) can appreciate. Reference CA4215-21H takes this formula and executes it in stealth: a matte black ion-plated stainless steel case, a dark grey dial, and white applied markings that deliver maximum contrast and legibility.

Design & Dial

The dial is a confident, understated thing — dark grey with a Flieger-style layout, featuring a bold outer minute/seconds track with white Arabic numerals running around the full perimeter. Three subsidiary dials sit at 9, 6, and 12 o'clock, handling the chronograph functions and dual 12/24-hour time display. A date window sits between 4 and 5 o'clock. Luminous hands and oversized markers ensure excellent readability in low light. The 44.6mm case (confirmed by callipers) is all-black ion-plated stainless steel with a matte finish — purposeful and tactical in equal measure, with signed crown and pushers on the right flank. This example is fitted with a HEMSUT black tactical nylon hook-and-loop strap — a quality aftermarket strap that complements the military-inspired aesthetic perfectly. Lug width is 22.2mm, lug-to-lug 50.1mm.

Movement

Powered by the Citizen Calibre B620 Eco-Drive — a solar movement that recharges continuously from any natural or artificial light source and never needs a battery. On a full charge it will run for months in complete darkness. The movement drives a 1/5-second chronograph capable of measuring elapsed time up to 60 minutes, plus dual 12/24-hour time display. Water resistance is rated at 10 Bar / 100 metres — suitable for swimming and snorkelling. A genuinely capable, worry-free movement that will outlast most mechanical alternatives in everyday use.

Condition

Graded Very Good. The watch is fully functional — the Eco-Drive movement is running perfectly, the chronograph operates correctly, and all pushers and the crown function as expected. The solar cell is active and charging. Cosmetically, it presents well with no major damage.
