About the Pulsar Quartz Watch

Pulsar has a proud heritage as a pioneer of quartz watchmaking — the brand launched the world's first commercial LED digital watch back in 1972 under Hamilton, before becoming a standalone Seiko Group brand. By the 1990s, Pulsar had carved out a strong reputation for reliable, well-built quartz sports watches at accessible price points. This example, manufactured in June 1995, is a fine representative of that era: practical, robust, and quietly stylish.

Design & Dial

The dial is a crisp, bright white with a distinctive geometric marker layout — a mix of triangles, arrows, and rectangles that give it a bold, sporty character typical of mid-90s design. The Pulsar logo sits proudly at 12 o'clock, with the Caliber reference and water resistance rating printed neatly at the lower dial. A date window at 3 o'clock adds everyday practicality. The hands are sword-style with luminescent tips for low-light legibility. The bezel is a fixed, brushed stainless steel unit with a black insert and minute track, giving the watch a subtle diver-inspired aesthetic. The case measures 36.1mm in stainless steel with a brushed and polished finish, sitting on a matching stainless steel jubilee-style bracelet with a fold-over clasp.

Movement

Inside beats the Caliber Y112 — a Japanese quartz movement from the Seiko/Pulsar stable, known for its accuracy and longevity. Quartz movements of this type typically keep time to within ±15 seconds per month and require minimal servicing beyond a battery change every 2–3 years. The movement is running well and keeping accurate time.

Condition

This watch is in Good Pre-Owned condition. It is fully functional — the movement runs accurately, the date sets correctly, and the crown operates as it should. Cosmetically, the case and bracelet show light surface wear consistent with age and use, including minor scratches to the bracelet links, case sides and crystal. The dial is in good order with no significant marks. The watch presents well and wears better than its age might suggest.
