About the nite ICON

nite Watches is a British brand with deep roots in professional and military markets. Their signature technology is the use of trigalight tritium gas tubes — sealed glass capsules filled with tritium gas that produce a constant, battery-free glow for up to 25 years from manufacture. The ICON is nite's flagship field watch design: clean, legible, robust, and built to a specification that would satisfy demanding professional users. This example dates from approximately 2014–2016.

It is worth noting that tritium gas tubes have a half-life of approximately 12.3 years. This watch is now 10+ years old, meaning the lume output will have reduced to roughly half its original brightness — it will still glow in the dark, but not with the intensity of a newer example. This is a known and expected characteristic of tritium tube watches of this age, not a defect, and is priced accordingly.

Design & Dial

The ICON wears a commanding presence on the wrist. The black PVD-coated stainless steel case sits at approximately 44mm and features a bold tool-watch silhouette with a screw-back case back engraved with the nite branding. The matte black dial is highly legible, with large white Arabic numerals, a 24-hour inner track, and — most notably — a striking blue seconds hand that gives the ICON its distinctive character. Applied tritium tube markers ring the dial. The crystal is mineral glass, and water resistance is rated to 100 metres.

On the wrist sits the original nite perforated genuine leather strap — black with contrasting cream/natural stitching, rivet detail at the lugs, and the nite logo embossed on the tan inner. A matching PVD pin buckle completes the ensemble. The strap is in good original condition.

Movement

The nite ICON is powered by a Japanese quartz movement, providing reliable, low-maintenance timekeeping. As is standard for quartz watches, servicing requirements are minimal — a battery change when required is all that is typically needed. The watch is reported to be working perfectly.

Condition

Good — Pre-Loved, 10+ Years Old

This watch is in good condition for its age and is working perfectly. Given that it is 10 or more years old, very minor marks or blemishes may be visible upon close inspection of the case, case back, and strap — consistent with careful ownership over time. The tritium tubes have reached approximately half their original brightness, as expected for a watch of this vintage.
