About the Nite GX70-201

Nite Watches was established in 2003 with a single-minded brief: to build watches that perform in total darkness without the need for a power source or button press. The brand quickly earned a following among military, law enforcement, and outdoor professionals who demanded always-on illumination. The GX70 was one of their flagship models — a full-blooded chronograph built to military-grade standards, featuring the brand's signature T25 Swiss GTLS Tritium gas lamps mounted directly on the dial markers and hands. This is early Nite DNA at its finest: raw, functional, and dripping with early-2000s tactical attitude.

Design & Dial

The GX70-201 wears a deep, navy-blue sunburst dial that shifts in tone under different lighting — rich and saturated in daylight, almost black under low light. The layout is quintessential sports chronograph: three sub-dials for elapsed time measurement, applied rectangular Tritium lume markers at every hour position, and luminous sword-style hands delivering strong legibility across all conditions. The model designation GX70 200M is printed cleanly on the dial, alongside a discreet T25 Swiss notation confirming the Tritium specification. A date window sits at 3 o'clock. The outer chapter ring carries a 24-hour scale, leaning hard into the military brief.

The 45mm case is machined from brushed 316L stainless steel and integrates directly into a uniquely sculpted bracelet — angular, architectural, and unmistakably early 2000s in its aesthetic. The case measures 44.2mm across and 52.9mm lug-to-lug as confirmed by caliper. The crown features a screw-in design with triple O-ring seals, and the sapphire crystal carries triple anti-reflective coating for exceptional clarity. The stainless caseback is engraved with full specification text and the Nite logo.

Movement

Powering the GX70 is the Swiss Ronda 5040.D quartz chronograph calibre — a trusted Swiss-made movement renowned for its precision and reliability. Quartz means no winding, no servicing, and no fuss — just set it and wear it. The Tritium illumination operates entirely independently via self-powered radioactive gas lamps, requiring no charging and no buttons; the hands and markers glow continuously, around the clock.

Condition

This is a pre-loved example in good used condition for its age. The movement runs perfectly and the chronograph function operates as it should. The Tritium lume remains active and glowing — as you'll see in the low-light photography. As with all Tritium-illuminated watches of this era, the glow has naturally dimmed over the decades due to the radioactive half-life of the T25 gas — it is softer than when new, which is entirely normal and expected. It still performs well in low-light conditions. Given that this watch was manufactured between 2004 and 2006, please also note that marks, light scratches, and surface wear consistent with age and use may be present across all surfaces — case, bracelet, clasp, and crystal.
