About the Mondaine L 30 388 OT 7S
Mondaine has been producing the Official Swiss Federal Railways watch since 1986, based on the iconic clock design created by Hans Hilfiker for Swiss Federal Railways in 1944. Instantly recognisable by its clean white dial, bold baton markers, and distinctive red seconds hand, the Mondaine railway watch is one of Switzerland's most celebrated and enduring timepiece designs. This cushion-square case variant is a less common and particularly characterful alternative to Mondaine's standard round models — a real conversation piece.
Design & Dial
The watch features a clean white dial with black baton hour markers and Mondaine's signature red seconds hand — faithful to the original Swiss railway station clock aesthetic. The cushion-square stainless steel case measures approximately 27mm wide × 30mm tall × 7.8mm thick, giving it a compact, elegant presence on the wrist. The lug width is 22mm. It is fitted with an aftermarket red genuine leather strap, and the original Mondaine stainless steel deployant clasp is included should the buyer wish to fit it.
Movement
Powered by a Swiss quartz movement (7-jewel, ref. suffix 7S), the watch is running well and keeping good time. Swiss quartz movements of this type are accurate, low-maintenance, and reliable for everyday wear.
Condition
Good. The watch is in good condition and fully functional. There are light scratches visible on the case and/or crystal consistent with normal pre-loved wear. The strap is an aftermarket red leather strap in good order. As with all pre-loved watches, other small marks or imperfections may be visible upon close inspection of the photographs — please study every image carefully before purchasing.
