Lator Landeron Manual-Wind Chronograph | Black Dial & Olive Green Strap
Lator Landeron Manual-Wind Chronograph
Here at Bezel & Hide, we believe a great watch speaks for itself. This Lator brings together a black twin-register dial, broad hands and beautifully warm-toned hour markers in a purposeful silver-tone case. Paired with an olive-green fabric strap, it has an understated sporting character and plenty of visual appeal.
Powered by a Landeron manual-wind mechanical chronograph movement, this is a well-presented pre-loved example, offered at an honest market price for this model. It comes without box or papers, with its condition and observed running performance detailed below.
About This Lator
The appeal here is in the watch itself: the Lator-signed dial, traditional two-register chronograph layout and the hands-on pleasure of a manually wound movement. The dial carries “17 Jewels” and “Incabloc” markings, while the combination of broad hands, pointed hour markers and prominent 12 and 6 numerals gives it a distinctive identity.
The exact production year and Landeron calibre have not been confirmed. We would rather leave those details open than attach an unsupported date or movement reference to the watch.
Design & Dial
The black dial provides a strong backdrop for the pale, warm-toned hands and hour markers. Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 balance the two recessed registers, with fine white graduations and an outer tachymeter scale adding detail without overwhelming the layout.
The broad hour and minute hands have inset luminous material, showing the character visible in the close-up photographs. Current luminous performance has not been tested or guaranteed.
A silver-tone case with angular lugs frames the dial, while the bezel has a finely toothed outer edge and a small contrasting marker. Two prominent chronograph pushers flank the crown, giving the watch its unmistakable sporting profile.
The photographed caliper readings show approximately 36.6mm across the case, 46.3mm lug-to-lug and 19mm between the lugs. These are measurements of this example, not confirmed manufacturer specifications.
An olive-green fabric strap with silver-tone hardware completes the watch, bringing a softer, utilitarian contrast to the dark dial and metal case. Please refer to the photographs for its construction, fastening and condition.
Movement & Running Performance
Inside is a Landeron manual-wind mechanical chronograph movement, with the exact calibre unconfirmed.
During our observation, the watch ran to within approximately one minute over 24 hours. This is an observed result from that test, rather than a guarantee of future daily accuracy.
The watch and chronograph functions have been checked and are working correctly, with the chronograph resetting cleanly.
Service history is unknown. A service may be due at some point, and buyers should factor that possibility into ownership rather than assume the watch has recently been serviced.
Water resistance has not been verified, and no water-resistance guarantee is offered.
Condition
Well-presented pre-loved condition overall, with visible wear consistent with previous use.
There is a small defect on the crystal, along with other marks on the watch. These should be considered part of its condition rather than overlooked because of its attractive overall presentation.
As with all pre-loved watches, other small marks or imperfections may be visible upon close inspection of the photographs — please study every image carefully before purchasing.
The close-up images form an important part of the description, showing the dial, hands, crystal, case, bezel, caseback and strap from multiple angles. This is not an unworn or mint example.
Please study every photograph carefully before purchasing. If you would like clarification about the crystal defect, running test or any other detail, get in touch before buying.
