About the Casio F-28W

The F-28W takes a refreshingly restrained approach to the digital watch. Rather than filling the display with extra modes, it keeps the emphasis on time and calendar information, all visible together.

Its appeal is in that purposeful layout. There is no stopwatch, alarm or backlight competing for attention, and the two small pin-set controls are used for adjustment rather than everyday mode switching. It is an understated alternative for anyone drawn to Casio’s simpler digital designs. The manufacture date of this particular example is unknown.

Design & Display

The angular black resin case frames a pale LCD with large hours and minutes, running seconds and a separate upper line displaying the weekday, month and date. A 24-hour indicator is also visible in the photographs.

A bright blue border gives the otherwise restrained face a distinctive lift. White Casio and F-28W lettering sits above the display, with gold-coloured “Lithium” text and a red accent beneath the “Water Resist” wording completing the design.

The slim case sits neatly on the wrist, as shown in the wrist photograph. The supplied caliper images show approximately 33.8mm across and 8.7mm thick; these are photographed measurements, not verified factory specifications.

It is fitted with an aftermarket black strap, finished with moulded transverse grooves, an adjustable pin buckle and a matching keeper. The strap is not an original Casio item.

Movement & Functions

Powered by Casio module 1156, as marked on the caseback, this digital quartz watch is confirmed to be working perfectly at the time of listing.

The display provides hours, minutes, seconds, weekday, month and date, with selectable 12/24-hour time presentation. Two small recessed pin-set controls on the side are used to adjust the watch.

The caseback also carries “Assembled in Malaysia” and “Water Resistant” markings. The original water-resistance marking should not be treated as confirmation of this pre-loved watch’s present-day protection against water.

Condition

Good pre-loved condition, with visible signs of previous wear rather than a pristine or unworn finish.

The photographs show scratches and scuffs around the case and display surround, surface marks on the display cover, and scratches to the caseback. The black aftermarket strap also shows some surface wear. The digital display is legible in the photographs, and the watch is working perfectly.
