About This Ingersoll

The Ingersoll name and its “Since 1892” signature feature prominently on this watch, alongside the dial’s “German Design” wording. Here, the emphasis is on decorative mechanical watchmaking: not hiding the mechanism behind a conventional dial, but making its visible structure an essential part of the design.

The IN7200 combines that skeleton presentation with practical day and date displays and a separate 24-hour indication. These are three distinct subdials, not a triple calendar or chronograph. Together with the clear-stone bezel and sculpted case details, they give the watch an ornate, individual character.

Design & Dial

A brown outer chapter ring carries silver-tone Arabic numerals and fine minute markers. Within it, the open dial reveals shaped metalwork, screws and gearing, with colour contrasts and changing reflections giving it considerable depth.

Three brown-ringed subdials sit within the exposed structure: day of the week at nine, date at three and a 24-hour indication at six. Broad silver-tone hour and minute hands carry luminous inserts, shown glowing green in the low-light photograph, while a slender central seconds hand completes the display.

The polished silver-tone case is framed by a double row of clear decorative stones. Their exact composition has not been established, so no diamond or precious-gem claim is made. Rounded crown and calendar controls project from the right side, with prominent rounded fittings at the lugs and Ingersoll engraving on the opposite case flank.

A brown patterned leather strap with contrasting tonal texture complements the dial. It closes with a silver-tone folding deployant clasp. Turn the watch over and the exhibition caseback reveals the automatic winding rotor and further movement detail, offering another view of the mechanical construction.

Very good pre-loved condition, working perfectly and keeping accurate time. The combination of the open movement, brown dial details and bright decorative bezel gives it an attractive overall presentation.

The polished case and folding clasp carry surface scratches and marks consistent with previous wear. The brown leather strap shows creasing, rubbing and wear to its surface, edges and lining, as illustrated in the close-ups.
