About This Earnshaw

The modern Thomas Earnshaw brand draws inspiration from its namesake watchmaker and classical watch design. This example combines traditional dress-watch character with an open-heart automatic movement, giving it something more engaging than a purely decorative dial.

The caseback is marked ES-0505, with ES-0505-01 on the outer-box label. Its appeal lies in the balance between decorative detail and visible mechanical motion: a refined case, delicate hands and sparkling accents, with the moving mechanism providing a focal point of its own.

Design & Dial

The pearlescent white dial has a soft, shifting sheen that complements the warm gold-tone hands and applied Earnshaw name. A raised outer section carries round clear-stone hour markers, with the brand’s stylised emblem at twelve.

An open-heart aperture near eight o’clock reveals the balance assembly, while a separate small-seconds subdial at six overlaps the lower dial. Fine dark seconds markers add definition without making the design busy. Slim, tapering hour and minute hands complete the central display.

The polished gold-tone stainless steel case is framed by a single row of clear decorative stones. A ridged crown has a red cabochon-style inset, adding a distinctive colour accent. No diamond, precious-gem or solid-gold claim is made.

The fitted cream fabric strap with leather backing has a subtle woven texture and a gold-tone Earnshaw-signed buckle. An additional brown fabric strap offers an alternative look, making the package useful beyond a single colour combination.

Turn the watch over and the exhibition caseback reveals the automatic movement, including a decorated, partially openworked winding rotor with Earnshaw branding, contrasting gearing and blue-tone screws.

The caseback is marked 5 ATM. This is the stated rating, not confirmation of a current pressure test; water resistance is not guaranteed for this pre-loved example.

Condition

Excellent pre-loved condition and perfect working order. The dial, decorative bezel and warm gold-tone finish create a particularly attractive overall presentation, complemented by the cream strap and substantial presentation package.

Close inspection shows light surface marks from handling and previous use on the reflective metalwork, along with light creasing and signs of use to the fitted strap and its lining. The packaging also shows minor storage and handling wear.
